SAN ANTONIO – With a global audience of around 500 million people in 2020, Esports continues its growth at all levels and greater San Antonio has two universities (St. Mary’s University, Texas A&M University – San Antonio) fielding varsity teams while several others have clubs.

With a player base of at least 200 million people worldwide, the video game Fortnite is showing no signs of slowing down. An estimated 8.3 million players are regularly online at the same time, almost double the number of registered users since February.
